He is survived by: his wife Geneva Hamilton Dempsey; his children, Robert Dempsey (Diane), Phil Butler, Nancy Hughes (Tommy) and Connie Bethune (Dennis); and his daughter-in-law Jan Dempsey. He is also survived by 7 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
