He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert Ward and Lelia Kiker Ward; his wife Evelyn Hughes Ward; and his siblings, Robert "Bobby" Ward and Shirley Ward.
He is survived by: his children, David Ward (Kathy) and Kimberly Michelle Ward; his siblings, Jimmy Ward (Elaine), Brenda Akerey (Roy) and Frances Akerey (Charles); and his grandchildren, Tytus, Jovie Thrasher, Kaitlyn Thrasher, Preston Ward, Brylie Ward, Bryson Ward, Dylan Ward, Devon McGuire and Levi McGuire.
