He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Franklin Elrod and Jewel Hurley Elrod; his wife Gail Elrod; his siblings, Larry Elrod, Sheila Elrod and Deloris Suties; and his stepgrandson Joshua Tidmore.
He is survived by: his daughter April Leigh Elrod; his stepchildren, Debra Butler, Donna Mostiller and Chad Tidmore; his siblings, Freddy Elrod, Dean Sparks, Carol Jones and Sharon Elrod; and his cousin Ramon Lee Hurley. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
