He was predeceased by: his siblings, Wilburn Hughes, Johnny Hughes, Charles Hughes, Winford Hughes, Walton Hughes, Elizabeth Baty and Louise Rogers.
He is survived by: his wife Betty Sue Hughes; his children, Bobby Lamar Hughes and Melissa Harrison; and his brother Horace Hughes, Jr.. He is also survived by 4 grandchildren; and 7 great-grandchildren.
