He was predeceased by: his parents, Benjamin Chastain and Mary Jane Chastain. He is survived by: his wife Linda Joy Chastain; his children, Rebecca "Becky" Brown (Chris Bucher), Abby, Valeka Bucher and Christine; his son-in-law Pascal Krist; his siblings-in-law, Jerry and Jenny Barnette; his grandchildren, Emily and Richard Carnes; his great grandchild Anne Carnes; his nephew Lee Holder; and his close friends, Buck Edwards, Alvin Massingill, Bill Dempsey and Brian.
Visitation was held on Wednesday, April 9th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Max Brannon & Sons Funeral Home (711 College St, Calhoun, GA 30701). A funeral service was held on Thursday, April 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the same location.
