He was predeceased by: his son Bryan Hess; his stepdaughter Janis Whiteside; and his stepmother Ica Mae Hess. He is survived by: his wife Renee Selman Hess; his daughter Deanna Rziemkowski; and his stepchildren, Jalyne Ullrich, Craig Holst and Todd Eatinger. He is also survived by six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren.
