He was predeceased by: his parents, Horace J. Deaton and Sylvia Aikens Deaton; his son Todd Deaton; and his brothers, Earl Deaton and Robert Deaton.
He is survived by: his wife Rita Fox Deaton; his children, Virgil Deaton (Mary), Dana Deaton, Nita Hopper (Terry) and Tricia Bridwell (Allen); his grandchildren, Caitlyn Stewart, Shelbie Ricketson (Tyler), Hayden Morris (Rod), Cody Pass (Brandy), Tucker Bridwell, Jada Weaver and Jena Hopper; and his great grandchildren, Ryan Morris, Ellis Deaton Ricketson and Jase Weaver.
