He was predeceased by: his parents, Seaborn Hulsey and Bonnie Lynn Thomas Hulsey; his sons, William Joe Hulsey and Scott Hulsey; his son-in-law Richard Darnell; his niece Betsy Hulsey Lively; and his close friend Joanne Milum.

He is survived by: his children, Neena Hulsey of Dahlonega, Renita Hulsey (Steve Bennett) of Dahlonega, Cindy Lynn Darnell of Dawsonville and Larry "Shawn" Hulsey of Dahlonega; his brother Joe Hulsey (Lou); his grandchildren, Maggie Johnson (Christopher Heard), Laurel Eren Chapman (Jeremiah), Madison Hulsey, Saylor Buice (Clay Pardue), Emily Herrin (John), Chase Hulsey and Zance Hulsey; his great grandchildren, Jake Heard, Achilles Chapman, Kai Hulsey, Hamp Herrin and Price Herrin; his nephew Joey Hulsey; and his close friends, Larry and Darcy Tate. He is also survived by numerous other relatives and friends.
