It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Robert Edward Melton of Stone Mountain, Georgia, who passed away on August 20, 2023, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Major Melton and Laura Jones Griffies; and his sister Judith "Judy" Louise Melton. He is survived by: his wife Cara Melton; his children, Stephen Melton (Joni) and Sharon Craig (John); his grandchildren, Travis Melton (Valerie), Taylor and Ryan Craig; his great grandchild Evaleigh Melton; and his siblings, Johnny Griffies (Allyson) and Beth Griffies.
