James Proffitt Obituary
In loving memory of James Proffitt of Stone Mountain, Georgia, who departed this world on February 22, 2025 at the age of 83. James leaves behind a legacy remembered by family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Mitchell Clay Proffitt and Myra Sands Proffitt; and his sisters, Linda Cooper and Thelma Barrett. He is survived by: his wife Alma Proffitt; his children, Greg Proffitt (Betsy) and Allison Reeves (Kevin); his stepdaughter Tonia Tumbleston; his grandchildren, Brantley Proffitt (Sara) and Ellie Proffitt; his brother Gary Proffitt (Dianne); and his brother-in-law Ray Cooper. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory (2773 N Decatur Rd, Decatur, GA 30033). A funeral service will be held on Saturday, March 1st 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the A. S. Turner & Sons Funeral Home & Crematory (2773 N Decatur Rd, Decatur, GA 30033).
