It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Patricia Burney (Stockbridge, Georgia), born in Richmond, Virginia, who passed away on February 11, 2025, at the age of 78, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Jaqueline Thornton and Whitman Thornton Jr.; her husband Dr. Hamp Burney; her son Hamp Burney Jr.; and her sisters-in-law, Barbara Jordan and Margaret Johnson.
She is survived by: her daughter Heidi LeSane; her granddaughter Kayla LeSane; her great grandchild Josiah Wiggins; her siblings, Debra Coleman and Whitman Thornton III (Lucy Thornton); her sister-in-law Alma Turner; and her close friends, Jack Holliday and Patricia Ramsey. She is also survived by loving nephews, nieces, family, and friends.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Horis A. Ward - Fairview Chapel (376 Fairview Rd, Stockbridge, GA 30281). A celebration of life was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
