He was predeceased by: his parents, Emma Walker and Dee Granville Sullins; his wife Betty Mathis Sullins; his son Paul Mathis Sullins; and his brothers, Hubert Walker Sullins and Dee Granville Sullins Jr..

He is survived by: his children, Smokey Sullins, Jr. (Michelle), Robyn Bish (Hal), Laura Fosgate (Kevin), Rebecca Temples (David) and Havalyn Massey (Mike); and his grandchildren, Matthew Sullins (Allie), Shelby Puckett, Christopher Bish (Xiomara), Caitlin Hatcher (Joseph), Amelia Koenig, Claire Koenig and Sarah Katherine Massey. He is also survived by 12 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews.
