It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of John Wesley Payne Jr. of Stephens, Georgia, who passed away on February 9, 2025, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parents, John Welsey Payne, Sr. and Enid Cook Payne; and his siblings, Nannie Kate Thompson, Robert Jack Payne, Tommy Cook Payne and Nellie Jo Folds.
He is survived by: his wife Nancy Jo Childs Payne; his children, Mark Anthony Payne (Dana Payne) and Laura Payne McTier (Scott McTier); his grandchildren, Matthew Wesley McTier (Regan McTier), Casey Jo Payne Stiles (Parker Stiles), Hannah McTier Goza (David Goza), David Grayson McTier (Carson McTier), Callie Ann Payne and Cody Calvin Payne (Amber Payne); and his great grandchildren, Ellie Scott McTier, Charlotte Elizabeth McTier, Mary Grayson McTier, Caroline Emerson McTier, Walker Barrington Stiles, Dawson Ned McTier, Riley Jo Stiles and John Wesley McTier. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 13th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the McCommons Funeral Home (109 W Broad St, Greensboro, GA 30642). A celebration of life will be held on Friday, February 14th 2025 at 11:00 AM at 1354 Union Point Rd, Stephens, GA 30667.
