He was predeceased by: his parents, Herchel Gibson and Corinee Waldrup Gibson; his wife Gloria Jean Hardy Gibson; his son Brady Gibson; and his siblings, Dillard "Peewee" Gibson, Charlie Gibson, Carl Gibson, Sr., Dorothy Gibson, Betty Franklin and Hazel Gibson.
He is survived by: his nieces and nephews, Carl Gibson, Jr. of Dahlonega, Tommy Gibson of Mt. Airy, Georgia, Regenia Kennedy of Dahlonega and Joyce Moore of Turnerville. He is also survived by other nieces and nephews and cousins.
