She was predeceased by: her parents, Melton Lamar Pruett and Nellie Grace Pursley Pruett; her husband John Robert Barnes; and her daughters, Jennifer Carter and Amy Barnes.

She is survived by: her son Shane Barnes (Amy); her grandchildren, Harleigh Patrick, Robert Shane Barnes, Jr., Madison Barnes, Mason Barnes, Tyler Oates and Jacob Dove; and her siblings, Larry Pruett of Athens, Chancey Pruett of Center, Eloise Stewart of Bogart, Barbara Adams of Bogart, Shirley Cheatham of Bogart and Bonita Bates of Bogart.
