He was predeceased by: his parents, George Gordon Alston and Almanette Riggs Lampson. He is survived by: his daughters, Jarissa Brown of Statesboro, GA and Claire Alston of Statesboro, GA; his siblings, Avatara Qtub of Detroit, MI, Desiree Franklin of Statesboro, GA, Doug Smith of Metter, GA and Courtney Alston of Statesboro, GA; and his grandchildren, Freddie Z. Brown, Jaceon Brown, Braeden Lawrence, Marvin Swift, Anna Swift, Jordan Alston, Darrell Key Jr., Sage Alston and Kamaris Evans. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.
The lying in state was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 at 10:00 AM and on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 10:00 AM. Visitation was held on Friday, January 17th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hill's Mortuary, Inc. (58 Packinghouse Rd, Statesboro, GA 30458). A funeral service was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Brannen Chapel United Methodist Church (20 Elm St, Statesboro, GA 30458). A burial was held on Saturday, January 18th 2025 at the Bulloch Memorial Gardens (22002 US-80, Statesboro, GA 30459).
