He was predeceased by: his parents, Ben Cassedy and Mrytice Cassedy; and his siblings, Bennie Earl, Tommy, Marvin, Raymond, Bonnie and Randy Cassedy.

He is survived by: his wife Holly Harvey Cassedy; his daughters, Candace Smith (Chris) and Carey Cassedy (Scott Hodgin); his grandchildren, Madison Cassedy (Austin Haskin), Holly Moore (John), Hannah Clarke (Sam), Walt Smith and Ashton Smith; his sisters-in-law, Linda Simmons, Pat Duke and Jackie Booth; and his friends, Pam, Landrum Hodges and Jimmy Melton. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
