She was predeceased by: her parents, Tommy Sowell and Inez Sowell of Statesboro, GA.; her siblings, Fay, Dianne, Danny and Tommie, Jr.; and her husband William "Bill" Carroll.
She is survived by: her children, Julie Davis (Dennis) of Hinesville and Arthur Pitts (Julie) of Tallahassee, FL.; her grandchildren, James Davis (Amanda) of Jacksonville, FL, Rebecca Davis of Hinesville, GA, Andrew Pitts (Elizabeth), Caleb Pitts (Laura) of Tallahassee, FL and Ian Pitts (Emily) of Plainville, CT.; her great grandchildren, Rhett, Reid and Claire Davis of Jacksonville, FL.; and her sister Karen McMichael of Sandersville, GA.
The family requests in lieu of flowers, a memorial donation be made to the American Cancer Society or American Diabetes Association.
