She was predeceased by: her parents, Will Smith and Clara Kelly Smith; her siblings, Wilford Smith, C. W. Smith, Lee Swinton Smith, Leola Munlin, Ellen Williams, Hilda Hagins and Sadie Gilmore (Joseph Davis Sr.); her children, Joseph Davis, Jr. and Jeano Kimberly Davis; and her grandson Demetrius Wright.
She is survived by: her children, Rhoda Coward (Jeremiah) of Homestead, FL, Carolyn Wright of Statesboro, GA, Joanne Sabb (Gary) of Portal, GA, Joyce Lane (Alonzo) of Statesboro, GA, Cherry Davis of Statesboro, GA, Craig Davis (Renee) of Atlanta, GA and Crystal Groeschel (John) of Colorado; her adoptive daughter Ramona Perry of Savannah, GA; her sister-in-law Susie Smith of Statesboro, GA; and her grandchildren, Shana Deal and Jai Sabb. She is also survived by eighteen grandchildren altogether, twenty-three great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The lying in state was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM and on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the St. Mary's Missionary Baptist Church (2227 Mallard Pond Rd, Statesboro, GA 30461). Viewing was held on Tuesday, February 4th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Hill's Mortuary, Inc. (58 Packinghouse Rd, Statesboro, GA 30458). A funeral service was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the St. Mary's Missionary Baptist Church (2227 Mallard Pond Rd, Statesboro, GA 30461). A burial was held on Wednesday, February 5th 2025 at the same location.
