It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Michael Sam Digiovanni (Statesboro, Georgia), born in Independence, Louisiana, who passed away on June 12, 2024, at the age of 76, leaving to mourn family and friends. As we bid Michael Sam farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Michael Sam is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Mike DiGiovanni and Rosa Maddie DiGiovanni; and his stepson Graham Smith. He is survived by: his wife Mickie DiGiovanni; his children, Joe DiGiovanni (Jamie) and Michaela DiGiovanni; and his stepchildren, Jarrod Smith and Alana Grosse (Drew). He is also survived by seven grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
