We bid farewell to Martha D Whitfield (Statesboro, Georgia), born in Savannah, Georgia, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on September 21, 2024 at the age of 85. Martha touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. She was predeceased by: her parents, David Alderman and Janie Alderman Hern; her stepfather Odie Hern; her son Robert Wayne DeLoach (Beaver); her stepson Jerry DeLoach; her sisters, Mamie Ruth Simmons and Betty Sue McGraw; and her grandchildren, Krissi Jade DeLoach, Kimberly Dawn DeLoach and Devon DeLoach.

She is survived by: her child Later; her former husband Mike Whitefield of Register; her children, Gwen Cleary (Stevie) of Metter, Sheresa Steptoe (Bobby) of Statesboro, Calvin DeLoach (Loureena) and Corbett DeLoach (Lorna) of Statesboro; her stepsons, Bill DeLoach (Karen), Jason Whitfield (Andrea) of Statesboro and Doug DeLoach (Thelma) of Beaumont; her daughter-in-law Jan Deloach of Statesboro; her niece Vicki Baumann O'Brien of Statesboro; her grandchildren, Steve Cleary, Kasey Hendrix, Renee Thompson, Wayne Steptoe and Lee DeLoach Jr.; her great grandchildren, Thomas Cole, Ada Grace Hendrix, Harrison Cleary, Avery Cleary, Kailey Thompson, Brody Thompson, Maddie Thompson, Adam Steptoe, Aiden Steptoe, Audrey Steptoe, LeeAnna DeLoach and Connor DeLoach; her stepgrandchildren, Tanner and Taylor Whitfield; and her sister-in-law Shirley Whitfield of Concord, NC.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 24th 2024 from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM at the Deal Funeral Directors (22757 US-80, Statesboro, GA 30461).

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Ogeechee Area Hospice.
