It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Lois Owens of Statesboro, Georgia, who passed away on August 3, 2024, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. You can send your sympathy in the guestbook provided and share it with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Penual Parrish and Jessie Mae Parrish; her son Donald Qwens; her husband Wallace M. Owens; and her brother Cornell Parrish (Gloria).
She is survived by: her aunt Susie Lee Smith; her sisters, Geraldine Miller (George), Virginia Harden (Hugh), Barnell Tremble (Julious), Velma Smith (Melvin) and Pennye Tremble (Hollis); and her goddaughter Lise'Timmons McLaughlin (Julius). She is also survived by nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
She selflessly donated to charitable endeavors, and until her illness, Lois was a devoted member of the Original First African Baptist Church, has served in leadership and on various committees as a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, NAACP, Cobblestone Homeowners Association, and the Sunshine Club.
