It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joseph Hammond (Springfield, Georgia), born in Mullins, South Carolina, who passed away on May 6, 2020, at the age of 89, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Martin Durham and Roxie Cleo Buffkin Hammond; his wife Betty Hammond; and his siblings, Aaron, Houston, Jimmy, Martin Hammond, Darcus Ann Bullard, Frankie Jewel Goins, Katheryn Mayers and Peggy Jean Johnson.
He is survived by: his nephew Lewis Warren; his daughters, Melanie Dean (Bobby) of Springfield, GA and Debbie Smith (Melvin) of Grays, SC; his brother Elery Hammond of Loris, SC; his grandchildren, Adam Dean (Amy) of Pooler, GA, Heather Antee (Ramie) of Guyton, GA and Lori Rahn of Ellabell, GA; and his great grandchildren, Olivia, Reese Dean, Zachary, Zoe Antee, Dillon, Lindy Rahn and Chloe Ijames.
