He is survived by: his wife Eleanor Jeanette Coats; his daughter Lisa Ruark (Richard); his grandchildren, Audrey Redmond (Kyle) and Will Ruark (Elizabeth); his great grandchildren, Caroline Redmond and Chandler Redmond; his sisters, Agnes Hatcher and Levie Mae Fillyaw; and his sister-in-law Evelyn Lester.
