He is survived by: his wife Willie Mae Nelson; his sons, Philemon Nelson Jr. David Leon (Daisy) and Earnest Nelson Sr. (Dawn); his sister Juanita Harper (late Mr); his grandchildren, Ramada Lashe'Nelson, Shabanna Nicole Nelson and Earnest Nelson Jr.; his children, Edward and La Toia of New Jersey; his great grandchildren, Aaliyah D'Aja Brown, Mariyah Chante'Brown, Gabrielle Anaiyah Brown, Avary Nevaeh Brown and Jayla Amir Brown; his nephew Earnest Harper Jr.; and his nieces, Jeanette Duncan (Linda Warren) of Florida and Beverly Bronner (Cynthia Morgan) of Macon. He is also survived by extended family, friends and co-workers.
Visitation was held on Thursday, January 30th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM at the Adrick Alexander Chapel (12273 W Broad St, Sparta, GA 31087). A funeral service was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at 11:00 AM at the Jones Chapel AME Church (3034 Carrs Station Rd, Sparta, GA 31087). A burial was held on Friday, January 31st 2025 at the same location.
