He is survived by: his mother Mary Elizabeth Rogers of Soperton, GA; his wife Elizabeth Shurling of Soperton, GA; his children, Eric Wendell Shurling of Statesboro, GA and Amy Shurling Dunn (Michael); his siblings, Lynda Walker (Sammy), Gerald Shurling (Donna), Gary Shurling (Margie) and Larry Shurling (Carmen); and his grandchildren, Michael Gage Dunn, Olivia Grace Dunn and Spencer Alexander Dunn. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
