He is survived by: his wife Janice "Nanny" Carpenter of Soperton, GA; his children, Dwayne Carpenter Jr. (Jackie) of Soperton, GA, Lynn Carpenter of Soperton, GA, Charles Carpenter Sr. (Wendy) of Hampton, GA and Dawn Helton (Scott) of Clarkesville, GA; his grandchildren, Charles William Carpenter Jr., Brittany McDaniel (Nathan), Taylor Carpenter, Lindsay Carpenter and Derek Gardner; and his great grandchildren, Jayce McDaniel and Sheila Grace Brown.
