He was predeceased by: his parents, Elza Tharpe and Della Mae Wilkes Tharpe; and his wife Carolyn Gillis Tharpe. He is survived by: his children, Tabatha Fowler (Woodrow) and Michael Tharpe (Wendy); and his grandchildren, Caroline Fowler, Joanie Fowler, Trenton Tharpe (Jodi) and Tristan Tharpe.
