He was predeceased by: his parents, Blanche Moss Wimpey and Richard Wimpey; and his brothers, Eric Wimpey, Ricky Wimpey and Randy Wimpey.

He is survived by: his wife Pamela Wimpey of Social Circle; his sons, D. J. (Sherri Wimpey) and Andrew Wimpey of Monroe; and his brothers, Eddie Wimpey of Oxford, John Wimpey of Lodi, CA and Paul Wimpey of Oxford.
