He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Nelson and Mary McIntire; his wife Cecile M. Nelson; and his siblings, Bill and Linda.

He is survived by: his children, Ann, Darrell David, Stephen, Miriam Nelson, Mary, Darryl Bowling, Patricia, Perry Worsham and Matt; and his brother Fred Nelson. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.

In lieu of Flowers, the family requests those who wish to express sympathy consider donating to a local organization supporting Alzheimer's care.
