He was predeceased by: his parents, Willis Nelson and Mary McIntire; his wife Cecile M. Nelson; and his siblings, Bill and Linda.

He is survived by: his children, Ann, Darrell David, Stephen, Miriam Nelson, Mary, Darryl Bowling, Patricia, Perry Worsham and Matt; and his brother Fred Nelson. He is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends.
