He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Anderson Gunter of Gwinnett County and Curtis Mabell Lee of Gwinnett County; his siblings, Henry, Harold, Donald, Alice, Mary and Harriet; and his son Marvin Henry "Butch" Gunter (Sharon).
He is survived by: his wife Tina Flynn Gunter; his sister Lucile Gunter Henderson of Grayson; and his children, Linda Gunter Caldarale of Brunswick, Gwen Gunter Morgan of Tucker and James C (Gunter, Jr.). He is also survived by nieces, nephews, friends.
