He was loved and cherished by many people including: his sons, William Birdsong Jr. (Angela Birdsong) of Smyrna and Jeffery Lyman Birdsong of Chapel Hill; his grandson Eli Birdsong of Chapel Hill, NC.; his parents, Richard Birdsong and Nannaline Birdsong; and his wife Betty Belle Parsons.
