He was loved and cherished by many people including: his children, Nicholas Smithwick and Jessica Smithwick; his former wife Darlene Smithwick; his sister Audrey Smithwick; his daughter-in-law Katie Frederick Smithwick; his sister Deborah Autry; and his parents, Ventalee Smithwick and Ralph Smithwick. He was also cherished by "Pop Pop" that his grandchildren.
