He was predeceased by: his parents, Montriville Monroe Bland and Virginia Morris Bland. He is survived by: his wife Janet Bland; his children, Paige Bland James (Eric) of Cumming and Joseph M. Bland, Jr. of Smyrna; his stepson Matthew Saunders of Winston Salem, NC; his sister Jane Rose of Raleigh, NC; and his grandchildren, Mackenzie, Mason James, Sarah, Hannah, Chloe and Kaitlin Saunders.
In lieu of flowers, Joe requested donations to either Mountain Top Boy's Home (65 Mountain Top Way, Sugar Valley, GA 30746) or Shriners Children's Hospital (950 W Faris Rd, Greenville, SC 29605).
