She was predeceased by: her former husband Carl J. Carden; and her husband Harold Whitney of Atlanta. She is survived by: her children, Gene Carden of Savannah and Janice Pitts (Jim) of Smyrna; her brother Douglas Vining (Alyse); and her grandsons, Jimmy Pitts (Stephanie), Jeff Pitts, Jonathan Pitts (Joy), Jennings Pitts (Kimberly), Joey Pitts, Robert Carden (Christie) and Richard Carden. She is also survived by 16 great grandchildren.
