We bid farewell to Sanders Jay Atkins of Silver Creek, Georgia, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on March 5, 2025 at the age of 92. Sanders Jay touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. He was predeceased by: his parents, Vera Atkins and Jesse F Atkins; his wife Gladys Ruth Atkins; his son Donald Franklin Atkins; and his siblings, Frank, James, Clyde, Opal, Ramie, Queen, Helen and Mozelle.
He is survived by: his friend Jesus; his daughter Joan Gentry of Rome, Georgia; his adoptive daughter Gail Poole of Rome; his stepgreat-grandson Brooks Eubanks; and his sister Hilda Atkins Moore. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
In lieu of customary remembrances the family request donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Lindale Food Pantry.
