It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Joyce Gay Slaughter Morris of Silver Creek, Georgia, born in Rome, Georgia, who passed away on November 1, 2021, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Henry Gay "Red" Slaughter and Bertha Mae "Doodie" Bray Slaughter; and her brother David Henry Slaughter. She is survived by: her children, Carol Mathis (Danny Ray) of Rome, Cathy Bruce (David) of Silver Creek and Steve Morris of Shannon; her grandchildren, Abby Dees (Russ), Justin Bruce (Elizabeth) and Jennifer Franz (Mark); her great grandchildren, Emma Dees, Riley, Ryan, Annie Ruth, Rosie Bruce, Brooklynn and Callie Anne Franz; her niece Susan O'Sullivan Sellers; and her great-nephew Holden Bray Sellers.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Berry College.
