She was predeceased by: her parents, James Russell and Ruth Bowden Underwood; her sons, Donald Franklin Atkins and Donnie; and her siblings, Marvin Underwood, Sara Underwood Schmitt and Florence Underwood Lloyd.
She is survived by: her husband Sanders'Sandy'J. Atkins; her daughter Joan Gentry of Rome, Georgia; her grandchild Morgan Eubanks (Chad) of Woodstock, Georgia; her stepgreat-grandson Brooks Eubanks; her adoptive daughter Gail Poole of Rome; and her brother Norman Underwood of Rome. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
In lieu of customary remembrances the family request donations be made to the First Baptist Church of Lindale Food Pantry.
