He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Howard Brown and Frances Louise Edgemon Brown; his son Curtis Brown; and his siblings, Bobby Brown, Fred Brown, Curtis Brown, Wayne Brown and Linda Roden.

He is survived by: his wife Mildred Lee Brown; his children, David Brown, Jr. and Donna K Brown; his grandchildren, Kristie Brown and David Brown III; and his great grandchildren, Danielle Grace Brown and Cayden Brown.
