He was predeceased by: his father John "J. W."; and his brother Wyatt Blackshear. He is survived by: his wife Michelle Russell Blackshear of Shellman; his mother Joan Mason Blackshear of Shellman; his children, Jordan Blackshear of Albany, Abigail Smith of Leesburg, Logan Pressley of Sylvester, Matthew Pressley of Albany and James Elliott "J. B."; and his sisters, Mary Ann Rosenholm of Clayton, GA and Tammy Merritt of Shellman.
