She was predeceased by: her parents, Joe Payne and Voncile Hilton Merritt; her husband Rod Young; her sister Barbara Merritt Lumpkin; and her grandson James Johnson.
She is survived by: her daughters, Rose A. Addison of Cuthbert and Dee Johnson (Douglas) of Saint Mary's, GA; and her stepchildren, Darlene Bateman (Brandon) and Brian Young (Norma). She is also survived by nieces and nephews.
