He was predeceased by: his parents, John R. Grant, Jr. and Mildred Moore Grant; his stepmother Annie Kate Grant; his former wife Susan Brown Grant; his brother-in-law Cliff Pearson; and his daughter-in-law Karon Riddle Grant.
He is survived by: his wife Greta Rigsby Grant; his children, Robert Michael Grant and Susana Grant Lane (Chip); his grandchildren, Susan, Katherine and Michael Grant (Kelsey); his sons, John (Lauren) and Jack Lane; his great grandchildren, Theo, Webberly Blair and Brooks; and his siblings, Donnie Grant (Lou Ellen), Doug Grant (Marilyn), Janie Lee (Clyde), Patty Wallace (Tom) and Maria Sumrell (Keith). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
