She was predeceased by: her parents, John Roy Smith and Zuma Exey Weatherby Smith; and her husband Jerry Dean Parrott. She is survived by: her children, Tammy Slaton of Sharpsburg and Tim Parrott (Lisa) of Tybee Island; her grandson James Dean Parrott; and her siblings, Sylvia Houston (Donny) of Loganville, Sherrie Robinson (Mike) of Peachtree City and Kenneth R. Smith (Elizabeth Ann) of Senoia. She is also survived by other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been set up at Bank of the Ozarks in the name of Joyce E. Parrott.
