He was predeceased by: his parents, Cullen Reid Patton and Ninetta Hamby Patton; his wife Carol J. Patton; his son Christopher Patton; and his brother Cullen R. Patton, Jr..

He is survived by: his daughter Jaime; his son-in-law Anthony Long of Sharpsburg; and his granddaughters, Taylor Beigle and Kinley Long.
