He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth "Betsy" Copeland; his parents, Edwin Copeland, Sr. and Zadie Belle Copeland; his siblings, Peggy Jackson and Roy Copeland; and his son Robert "Bobby" Copeland.
He is survived by: his children, Edwin W. "Tripp" Copeland, III (Holly) and Peggie Lee Copeland (Tim Boyer); his siblings, Myrtice Felch, Sue Fleming, Pam Boyd, Virgil Copeland and Mel Copeland; and his grandchildren, Wynn, Parks, Mae, Stuart, Nell Copeland and Timothy Dean "Tripp" Boyer, III. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
