He was predeceased by: his parents, William David Royal, Jr. and Mary Jacqueline Middlebrook Royal; and his son William Royal. He is survived by: his wife Debbie A. Carithers Royal; his children, Sarah Norman (Greg), Mary Goins (Terry) and Matthew Royal; his siblings, Renee Pattillo (Roy) and Dale Royal; his stepsons, Jon Maddox, Matt Maddox (Katherine) and Scott Maddox; and his great grandchildren, Vannessa Davis, Kimberly Phillips, James Phillips, Noah Royal, Sunshine Norman, Nolan Mark Norman, Kaitlyn Norman, Josie Davis and Easton Davis.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital in honor of his granddaughter, Sunny, a St. Jude Survivor.
