He was predeceased by: his parents, James Harley Boyd and Annette Wright Boyd; his brother Danny "Dobie" Boyd; and his grandchildren, Artemis and Apollo Boyd.

He is survived by: his wife Susan; his pet SophieLee; his children, Brandy Shoemake (Russell), Tyler Rumbaugh (Autumn), Jamie Boyd (JD) and Dylan Rumbaugh; his grandchildren, Bailey, Mason, Dylan, Kylie, Miley, Ryker and Stryder; and his siblings, Robbie Burke (Eric) and David Boyd (Crystal). He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
