He is survived by: his brother-in-law Cliff Johnson; his children, Brandis Shipes of Screven, Rachel Brown of Jacksonville, Fla. and Mark Shipes, II (Laura) of Jacksonville, Fla.; his granddaughters, Catherine, Lydia and Amelia; his father Danny Howard of Jacksonville; and his siblings, Sandy Johnson and Kevin Brown of Jacksonville, Fla.. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
