He was predeceased by: his parents, William Arthur and Retha Lambert Hammons; and his son Donald Hammons. He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Jenkins Hammons of Sylvania; his children, Theresa Morrison of Rincon, Paula Hammons of Sylvania, James A., Jr. (Renee Hammons), David Paul (Michelle Hammons) and Dale (Donna Brown); and his sisters, Ida Belle Davis of Pumpkin Center and Ruth Buie of Pumpkin Center. He is also survived by 12 Grandchildren, 4 Great-Grandchildren and Several Nieces and Nephews.
