He is survived by: his wife Loraine Vernon of Screven; and his children, Debbie Harper (Phill) of Dallas, David Phillips (Jan) of Jesup and Tony Vernon of Bellingham, Wash.. He is also survived by several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
